I ran the program for the first time, but I still see ads.
This could be caused by one of two things:
- You may need to restart your computer after running AdsGone the first time so the settings take effect. Also not all ads can be blocked by AdsGone. AdsGone blocks most of the major ad servers on the internet and we're adding more to the list each week.
- If you've restarted your computer, and you still don't see any banner ads blocked, but you do sometimes see popup ads blocked, you might be accessing the internet through a proxy server (commonly used at many companies). AdsGone can't block banner ads because the proxy server is letting them through and doing all the 'work'. However, AdsGone can still be used as a popup ad stopper (Internet Explorer only).
